Get ready for a new cooking competition! Netflix and A24 are developing an unscripted reality series based on the chaotic co-op game, Overcooked.
Reported by Deadline, the show will follow a similar format to other Netflix family-friendly competition series like Nailed It! and Floor Is Lava. It aims to bring the high-stakes kitchen challenges and signature mayhem of the video game to life.
The Overcooked series is in early development with Gemma Langford, Oli De-Vine, and Phil Duncan from Ghost Town Games, the game's developer, involved in production.
Overcooked, originally released in 2016, was praised as "farcical couch co-op at its finest."
Netflix is known for video game adaptations, including anime like Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, Devil May Cry, and Arcane.
Ghost Town Games is also working on a new two-player project called Stage Fright, described as a mix of "Overcooked style chaotic moments [and] escape room style cooperation."
