Reentry: The Ultra-Realistic Space Sim is Finally Here to Challenge Your Skills

Want to test your astronaut skills? After ten years of development, the super-realistic space simulator, Reentry, is officially finished and ready to push your abilities to the limit.

While games like Starfield and No Man's Sky offer simplified space exploration, Reentry aims for hardcore authenticity. Think Flight Simulator or Kerbal Space Program, but even more detailed. Developed by Lyra Creative, Reentry has just hit its 1.0 release after seven years in early access, promising a challenging and immersive experience.

According to creator Petri Wilhelmsen, Reentry evolved into something much larger than initially planned. This ambitious indie game strikes a balance between simulator and game, capturing the complexity of real spacecrafts and their intricate systems.

Reentry puts you in control of almost every system within a NASA-inspired spacecraft, mirroring the experience of real astronauts. It's not a perfect recreation of reality, but it feels incredibly authentic. The goal is to be accessible, even without extensive astronaut training.

Reentry's Space Flight Academy provides the guidance you need to get started. Each spacecraft includes a detailed flight manual and checklist. You'll find yourself on the launch pad, 111 meters high, ready to ignite five engines and blast off with 8,000,000 pounds of thrust.

Wilhelmsen expressed gratitude to the community: "After seven years of early access... the 1.0 scope has finally been met." The game allows you to experience Project Mercury, rendezvous and dock in Project Gemini, and even land on the Moon in Project Apollo.

Reentry 1.0 is available now on Steam with a 20% discount until Friday, November 14, bringing the price to $27.99 / £23.60. With overwhelmingly positive reviews (97% approval), Reentry has earned Steam's coveted "overwhelmingly positive" rating.
