Football Manager 26, which fully launched on Steam yesterday, is getting "mostly negative" reviews from players on the platform.
Currently, the game's Steam page shows 5,224 user reviews. Of those, 3,902 are negative, with players complaining about the user interface, bugs, technical problems, and a lack of innovation compared to what was promised before launch.
One user, Spittfire, who has already played the game for about 60 hours, wrote a mixed review. They said the UI overhaul is visually impressive but makes navigating the game feel clunky.
However, Spittfire praised the changes to tactics, a feature that many early players seem to like. They said Football Manager 26 offers a new level of freedom for tactical managers, even though some of the position terminology is a bit awkward.
Football Manager 26 was released in Early Access last month, giving fans a chance to try it out before the official launch. Eurogamer editor Chris Tapsell, in a preview, noted that the game would "take a lot of getting used to," hinting at the negative reception it has received.
Hopefully, Sports Interactive can improve the game and change players' opinions in the coming weeks and months.
