Marvel Rivals Season 5 Release Date Confirmed: Gambit & Rogue Arrive, Plus a Surprise New Hero Tease

Marvel Rivals continues to bring exciting new heroes to the game, recently adding Angela and a very tough-looking Daredevil. NetEase has now confirmed in a new trailer that the popular X-Men couple, Gambit and Rogue, will be the main heroes for Season 5. You won't have to wait long for this big update to arrive.

Before this reveal, NetEase invited players to a special in-game wedding event on Krakoa for Gambit and Rogue. This event honored their official marriage from X-Men Gold #30 in 2018, keeping the game true to the comics. The invitation also unveiled the name for Marvel Rivals Season 5: 'Love is a Battlefield.' The new trailer clearly shows the season will be full of action and chaos.

The Marvel Rivals Season 5 trailer begins with Wolverine asking Gambit if he is truly ready for marriage. It then shows sweet and cool moments between Gambit and Rogue. Beast also questions Rogue's readiness. Both Gambit and Rogue state they are prepared for anything, but soon, things go wrong, and their wedding ceremony is cut short.

While their specific roles in Marvel Rivals are not yet official, leaks suggest Gambit will be a "Duelist" and Rogue a "Strategist." Since most recent new characters have quickly become top choices in the Marvel Rivals tier list, Gambit and Rogue are expected to be strong additions. It also sounds like the voice actors from X-Men '97 are doing the voice work, which is a great detail.

Marvel Rivals Season 5 will be released on Friday, November 14, 2025.

Even though Season 5 focuses on Gambit and Rogue, NetEase used the trailer to hint at another major character. About a minute into the video, a spinning wedding ring reveals a grim-looking Cyclops. This doesn't fully confirm his arrival in Season 6, but it strongly suggests Cyclops will be a playable hero in Marvel Rivals very soon. The game is clearly adding more X-Men characters, which is exciting for fans.
