Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is getting three new free characters from Sega over the next few months.
First up is NiGHTS, a character from the classic Sega Saturn game, arriving next month (December). While not officially announced until now, fans spotted NiGHTS on the game's physical box art before release.
Following NiGHTS will be AiAi from Super Monkey Ball, joining the race in January 2026. This popular banana-loving monkey is leaving his ball to compete.

Finally, Tangle and Whisper will be added as dual characters. These two, a lemur and a wolf, come from the Sonic the Hedgehog spin-off comic series, which started in 2019.
These new additions join other recent free characters, including Joker from Persona 5 and Ichiban from Like A Dragon. The game previously received paid Minecraft DLC with new characters and a track. Also, Capcom's Mega Man is set to join the roster next year.
