Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is gearing up to launch a brand new PvE game mode called Endgame

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is gearing up to launch a brand new PvE game mode called Endgame, which brings together the best parts of the beloved Zombies experience and elements from the former DMZ mode. This exciting new Black Ops 7 Endgame mode promises a wild mashup, but there's a catch: you won't be able to jump in straight away. To unlock Endgame, players must first complete the first 11 co-op campaign missions in Black Ops 7. Alternatively, a friend who has already unlocked Endgame can invite you into their lobby, letting you bypass the mission requirement.

The premise of Black Ops 7 Endgame is straightforward. Squads of up to four players will drop into Avalon, a large campaign map filled with points of interest (POIs) inspired by past Black Ops titles. If you prefer a solo challenge, you can queue alone as well. Before deploying, you'll select one of 24 unique operators, each offering different advantages. You'll then customize your loadout, choosing not only your weapons and consumables but also major and minor abilities. Developer videos show players using clever tactics with anti-gravity fields and force field domes, so you can pick abilities that best suit your playstyle.

Once in the field, your objective is to accrue combat power, up to level 60, by defeating AI enemies and completing various activities and assignments. Gaining power progressively unlocks access to Endgame's four different difficulty zones. Drawing inspiration from popular roguelike games, clearing tasks in each zone provides valuable skill and loadout rewards, alongside power upgrades that can significantly modify how your operator performs. For instance, a player in the dev video was given the choice to add either a self-revive kit or C4 to their inventory.

Of course, simply clearing zones isn't enough. Just like DMZ and other extraction shooters, you'll need to successfully call in a VTOL and secure an exfil zone to get out. If you make it out alive, your current loadout and power level will carry over to your next match, allowing you to push into even harder zones. However, if you die or fail to extract before the match timer ends, all your progress for that run will be wiped clean, forcing you to begin your Endgame journey from scratch.

Overall, Black Ops 7 Endgame appears to be a brilliant blend of Call of Duty's greatest features. From what's been shown, it captures the fast-paced excitement of multiplayer and Zombies modes, combined with the intense tension found in DMZ. The roguelike elements ensure plenty of variety in each run, which is great news, especially if you're looking to earn all the new Black Ops 7 camos it offers. While Endgame isn't reinventing the wheel, it certainly looks like an exciting and challenging new way to play when Black Ops 7 arrives later this week.
