Pragmata release date window and news

Curious about the Pragmata release date? Capcom's unique puzzle-shooter has been in the works for a while. You play as Hugh, a spaceman trying to escape a futuristic moon base with his android friend, Diana.
First shown in 2020, Pragmata's development has taken its time. But now, we have a clearer idea of when this exciting PC game will finally launch. We’ll also share the newest details on its story and special gameplay to get you ready for Pragmata.

Pragmata release date window
The Pragmata release date is set for sometime in 2026. Capcom confirmed this during Sony's State of Play event in June 2025. The game will be available on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Pragmata was first revealed in 2020 and was originally planned for 2022. It was then delayed to 2023. After that, Capcom announced an indefinite delay, which made many worry the game might be canceled.
In June 2023, Capcom said, "Our team is currently hard at work making the best game that we possibly can, but we need more time. We will continue to do our best to ensure that the final product is one that is worthy of your patience."
Pragmata reappeared in June 2025, with Capcom confirming the 2026 release window. Although another delay is still possible, the game showing up at Summer Game Fest 2025 suggests it's likely to launch on time.

Pragmata trailers
The first Pragmata announcement trailer really grabbed attention. It showed Pragmata's main character, Hugh, walking through an empty New York City. He fires a flare gun, and particles rain down, helping him track a young girl named Diana in the deserted streets.
In a surprising twist, a falling satellite shatters the city's sky, pulling Hugh and Diana upwards. Diana is an android who can control technology. From Hugh's back, she links to his suit and creates a wire cage to shield them from falling debris. Once they reach the top of the "sky box," it's revealed that the entire city is actually on Earth's moon, a major plot twist.
The "Coming 2023" trailer from November 2021 was short and simply announced the game's delay. In it, Diana cutely held up a sign saying '2022 -> 2023, sorry :('. This was a charming way for Capcom to deliver the news.
When 2023 came, Pragmata was still not released. Its second delay wasn't surprising, but the June 2023 trailer did give us a small peek at gameplay. It showed Diana drawing on the floor while Hugh fought robots with energy swords.
As they move, Diana's drawing falls. Then another sign appears: '2022 -> ?, VERY sorry :('. After this, a quick gameplay video confirmed the game is third-person, includes dodging, and requires players to use Hugh's fighting skills and Diana's hacking powers together.

Pragmata gameplay
During Summer Game Fest 2025 (SGF 2025), Jamie played a 20-minute demo. In his Pragmata preview, he called it a "real-time mix of action and puzzles" that creates "unusual stakes" in the bond between the main characters.
The First Contact trailer also showed us Delphi Corporation. This company uses advanced 3D printing and AI to blend dreams and reality. As Hugh discovers, this powerful corporation isn't as good as it seems. Luckily, Diana helps him recover and then reveals she is a Pragmata (the game's namesake!). We then see how they combine shooting and hacking in combat.
The Shelter Overview trailer explained how Diana's hacking skills work against enemies. It also seems you can upgrade and change abilities, weapons, attachments, and hacking skills for both Diana and Hugh. This means you can create a character build that fits how you like to play. We've seen hacking skills that hit multiple enemies and weapons that shoot strong piercing bullets.
